If you thought the Jersey Shore was quiet in the offseason, think again! The most wonderful time of year is filled with family fun and cheer all December long in Wildwood, New Jersey. 

Sit back with a cup of hot chocolate and experience all the magic of the holidays The Wildwoods have to offer. Create wholesome family memories with bonfires, parades, light shows, craft fairs, tree lightings and with Mr & Mrs Claus themselves! 

See below for all the upcoming winter activities that are fun for the whole family here in Wildwood, New Jersey!

Wildwood Crest Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

The official kick off to the holiday season! Hosted at Sunset Lake located at the corner of Atlanta and New Jersey Avenues in Wildwood Crest at 6PM on December 1st. They have live music, light refreshments, a visit from Santa Claus for photo opportunities and more! For more info call 609-523-0202 or visit wildwoodcrest.org.

Wildwood Christmas in the Plaza

Join us down the shore Friday & Saturday December 2-3 in Byrne Plaza for Christmas in the Plaza! Free carnival rides from 5-9PM Friday evening and from 10AM-3PM Saturday! Support small and local businesses and enjoy live music by the John Walter Band. While you’re there, don’t miss story time with Mrs. Claus! Best of all – admission is FREE!

Wildwood Annual Christmas Parade

DECEMBER 2 @ 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

The holiday fun continues with the Annual Wildwood Christmas Parade Friday, December 2nd from 6:30-8:30PM! Parade lines up along Central Avenue and steps off 16th Ave at 6:30 p.m. Parade will begin at 6:30PM and proceed along Central Avenue, then down Pacific Avenue towards Spicer Avenue where the parade will turn and proceed towards its final route to Byrne Plaza. 

*Rain date scheduled for December 4th at 5PM

Wildwood’s Winter Wonderland at Holly Beach Park

DECEMBER 9 – DECEMBER 10

Bring the family and wander throughout Wildwood’s very own Winter Wonderland at Holly Beach Park Friday & Saturday December 9-10 from 5-9PM! Light show spectacular will run every 20 minutes with complimentary popcorn and hot chocolate. Lights will continue to shine from Sunday, December 13th through Saturday December 17th from 6:30-7PM thru January 14th.

Wildwood Holiday Bazaar 

Head over to the Wildwoods Convention Center December 10th from 9AM-4:30PM for a full day of festive family fun and entertainment! Kids get to meet Santa himself and smile for the camera for mom and dad. The event additionally includes children’s craft-making tables, face painting, holiday-themed craft sales, performances by the Avalon String Band and so much more! This event is free to all!

Pinch the ‘Grynch’ Boardwalk 5K Run

Fun for all ages! Dress in your festive best and run the Grinch out of town! Assist the Wildwood Police in catching the notorious Christmas thief on December 11th at 10AM. The race will run south on the Wildwoods Boardwalk to Cresse Avenue, turning to head north on 21st Street eventually towards the race’s end in front of the Wildwoods Convention Center. Registration is $30 per person or $15 if you donate a new, unwrapped toy for local children!

Wildwood Holiday Light Walk

Soak up the various holiday lights displayed all around town! Join us on the corner of Rambler Road and New Jersey Avenue at 5:30PM on December 19th. Walk along Sunset Lake and soak up the dazzling displays! Attendance is free but registration is encouraged. Don’t forget warm clothes and a flashlight to see! Participants will also receive a special holiday gift. To register, email lfarrall@wildwoodcrest.org. Rain date is scheduled for December 20th at 5:30PM.
